Aftermath of terrifying rampage of 'stolen' car in Stockport street

Footage has emerged showing the aftermath of a terrifying rampage caused by a stolen car in Stockport last night.

The footage shows a series of damaged cars and residents left in shock on Dale Street, Edgeley.

Two parked cars show signs of a collision, with a third in the middle of the road seeing its front wheel wrecked and airbags deployed.

Witnesses reported seeing a motor collide with several parked cars on the street at around 7:30pm on Wednesday (September 1).

Now, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the car in question was stolen and that its occupants fled the scene.

“A vehicle previously reported stolen was involved in a collision with multiple vehicles last night at around 7.30pm on Dale Street, Edgeley,” a police spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News.

“The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene following the collision.

“No arrests have been made.”

The spokesperson could not confirm if any injuries had been reported.

Residents in and around Dale Street also said on social media that the car ‘nearly took a family out’ during its destructive rampage.

Following the post on the Everything Edgeley Facebook group, residents expressed their shock at the devastation.

“It’s ridiculous. Something needs to be done,” one said.

Another added: “Every morning I open Facebook to someone [or] something has happened on Edgeley!

“Such a close place to my heart being brought up on Edgeley! But have to [say] I’m actually starting to feel very unsafe around here!”
