After voting today, PM to kick off BJP meet to shift focus to next round of polls

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday inaugurate the meeting of BJP’s national office bearers in which all state in-charges, presidents, general secretaries and heads of various fronts will be present.

After casting his vote in Ahmedabad, PM Modi will return to the capital and address party functionaries after the inaugural ceremony of the two-day meeting. He is likely to lay down the party’s political agenda as it readies for the next round of state polls and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting, to be chaired by BJP national president JP Nadda, will deliberate on the party’s future strategy, take stock of its preparations for the next round of state assembly polls and review various ongoing organisational activities, the statement said. Party leaders are engaged in organisational works around the year, and the meeting will serve as a stock-taking exercise. Several groups of party leaders, including Union ministers, have also been roped in to further strengthen its presence, especially in places where it lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Some electorally-important states, including Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, besides Tripura and Chhattisgarh, are scheduled to have assembly polls next year.
