FORT WORTH, Texas _ TCU had just about lost the game.
Then it had just about won the game.
But a blocked field goal with 10 seconds left forced the Horned Frogs to play overtime, and in two extra periods, Arkansas scored two touchdowns for a 41-38 victory at Amon G. Carter Stadium with 48,091 watching, the stadium's fifth-largest crowd.
The loss ended No. 15 TCU's home winning streak at 14 games, marring a spirited comeback that produced three touchdowns in less than eight minutes of the fourth quarter to erase a 20-7 deficit.
"You feel like you gave one away," coach Gary Patterson said. "They're going to be upset when they watch the film."
Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen pushed through a swarm of tacklers to score from five yards out in the second overtime, producing the winning points. He also threw a touchdown pass in the first overtime, one of three in the game for him. The winning run was only his third carry.
TCU's Kenny Hill threw for 377 yards and a touchdown, in the first overtime to Taj Williams, and ran for a team-high 111 yards and two touchdowns. Kyle Hicks also had two touchdown runs, including a 7-yard run with 7:15 left that gave TCU its first lead at 21-20.
Hill brought the Frogs back, but his celebration penalty after his run for a 28-20 lead with 2:05 left was a big reason the game wound up in overtime.
Kicking from the 20-yard line because of the infraction, Cole Bunce reached the 20 with his kick, but Dominique Reed returned it to the Arkansas 42, setting up a game-tying drive. Allen hit Keon Hatcher with a 16-yard score with 1:03 left and Hatcher again with a two-point conversion for the tie.
The Horned Frogs still had one more chance. KaVontae Turpin's 64-yard kickoff return to the Arkansas 27 set up a field goal try from Ryan Graf, but it was blocked.
"I told them I was proud of them," Patterson said. "They had a chance to win it twice."
The teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime, but the Frogs' second possession stalled and required a field goal, leaving the door open for Arkansas to win with Allen's touchdown.
"Good football game," Patterson said. "Got to give Arkansas credit. We made too many little mistakes. Like the celebration at the end of the touchdown. Then we're kicking off from the 20. Too many little mistakes. Want to beat good teams, can't make little mistakes."
Asked if he believed Hill appeared to make a motion across his throat after he scored, Patterson said he hadn't heard that.
"All I know is he got a penalty," he said. "Now I'm even more unhappy. Thanks."
TCU trailed 20-7 after Allen's 13-yard touchdown pass to Drew Morgan with 4:27 left in the third quarter. It answered TCU's first touchdown of the game, Hicks' 9-yard scoring run on the opening possession of the first quarter.
The Razorbacks (2-0) looked like they were getting close to putting the game away. But a missed field goal from short range left the Horned Frogs with a chance.
In seven plays, Hill had the Frogs within a touchdown. And after a three-and-out, Hill produced the lead on two plays, a 43-yard throw to Turpin and Hicks' 7-yard run.
After another Arkansas punt, Hill led a third consecutive scoring drive that ended with his 5-yard run and a 28-20 lead with 2:05 left.
"Proud of both sides of the ball," Patterson said. "Needed a play from Turpin on the kickoff return, we got one. Had a chance to win it. Got it blocked. Too many mistakes."
