DECATUR — The Bears believe two of their most valuable pass-catchers will be healthy enough to start training camp on the active roster, general manager Ryan Pace said Sunday.
Tight end Trey Burton had offseason sports hernia surgery after missing the NFC wild-card playoff game with a mysterious groin injury. He said at the time he was fairly sure that it was not a result of anxiety, which he had dealt with at times in his career.
Miller, a second-round pick in 2018, had shoulder surgery after the season ended to repair an injury that had bothered him most of the season.
Pace said that undrafted rookie Emanuel Hall, a Missouri speedster who had groin surgery in May, was also expected to participate when camp begins Thursday.
The team will likely take it slow with all three players, even though they’ll be active.
“We’ll be smart with those guys and how we ramp them in, like we always are,” Pace said. “But we expect to go into this training camp in a pretty healthy state.”
