After Rajasthan jolt, Vidarbha face Mizoram

NAGPUR: Vidarbha must be glad that they got a day off on Thursday after their severe drubbing at the hands of Rajasthan a day before. The Akshay Wadkar-led side saw the depth in both the departments being exposed on Wednesday. Now, they need to get their campaign back on track and their outing against Mizoram on Friday will serve as a fitting opportunity in order to find their mojo.

Vidarbha may opt to make a few changes to their playing XI. Since none clicked barring Atharva Taide against Rajasthan, one place in bowling and batting line-up may be up for grab.

Vidarbha's promising allrounders in Harsh Dubey and Sooraj Rai have been warming the bench since last year. They have been traveling with the team and played just one game each. If any one of them gets the opportunity, Vidarbha may find a new flavour in the middle.

While Sooraj is a left-arm pacer, Dubey is a left-arm spinner, and both are good at sending the ball across the rope. This is the only chance for Vidarbha to find their rhythm before bigger challenges like Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh await them.

Must-win match for Vidarbha colts

Mohd Faiz-led Vidarbha will lock horns with Tripura in a must-win one-day encounter of Vinoo Mankad Trophy on Friday. Vidarbha are placed at the second position in the points table. Both Odisha and Vidarbha have 10 points each but as Vidarbha have the best net run-rate in the Ground 'C', they have an advantage.
