Both the House and Senate have finally agreed on a bill streamlining the process for staffers and lawmakers who accuse their colleagues of sexual misconduct, the Washington Post reports.
Why it matters: Several members of Congress have been forced to resign this year over allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment. And last month, the House Ethics Committee sanctioned Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Ruben Kihuen (D-Nev.) over their handling of sexual harassment allegations. The agreement comes after several months of negotiations between the two chambers, who were criticized for not having a better system in place to address sexual allegations.
