VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi — who visits his parliamentary constituency in UP’s Varanasi after introducing the historic 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (women reservation bill)' — will address a public meeting exclusively for women at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University ground on Saturday.
This event was added to Modi’s proposed Varanasi visit on Thursday afternoon after which not only the officials of district administration and police but even Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadres swung into action.
Divisional commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma told TOI, “As per initial itinerary, a public meeting of the PM was proposed after laying the foundation of the international cricket stadium at Ganjari and other events at Rudraksh International Convention Centre. On Thursday one more event was added to PM’s almost seven-hour visit. Now, he will also address a meeting in which only women will take part at SSU ground.”
After the foundation-laying ceremony of the stadium and addressing a public meeting, Modi will reach SSU ground.
Officials said that the SSU meet will be exclusively for women.
“Only PM and chief minister Yogi Adityanath will be present on the dais of the event," they said adding, after taking part in this event the PM will go to Rudraksh to distribute prizes among the winners of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsava and interact with the students of Atal Residential Schools of Uttar Pradesh after dedicating the schools to nation.
