Jared Goff couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start against the Buccaneers on Sunday. He threw two interceptions in the Rams’ first three drives of the game, both of which led to Tampa Bay touchdowns.
He was asked to carry the offense with Todd Gurley receiving zero rush attempts in the first quarter, which was a surprising approach by Sean McVay. He rebounded nicely with two excellent drives after those crushing interceptions, leading the Rams to two scores.
His first touchdown pass of the day was a perfect tight-window throw to Gerald Everett for six.
It’s even better from this angle, showing just how small the margin of error was.
He finished the first half 20-for-29 with 223 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. All things considered, it could’ve been much worse.
