After cryptic tweet, Kristaps Porzingis claims twitter account hacked

The tweet appeared. And then it was gone in a matter of moments.

It might go unnoticed in a social media world filled with edits and deletes, second thoughts and reconsiderations. But this one came from the twitter account of Kristaps Porzingis and in light of the last month's strange activities, elicited a world of forensic social media detectives to begin wondering.

The tweet, which simply read, "LA Clippers" followed by three smiley face emojis, was deleted almost immediately. But not before many people saw it.

Nearly a day later Porzingis tweeted out an explanation.

"I was hacked last night and a post was made from my account. I have alerted twitter and they are looking into the incident."

He followed that up with another tweet saying he doesn't use the emoji smiley face and including an attachment showing emojis he uses frequently.

It might all mean nothing if Porzingis had not blown off his exit interview with Knicks' president Phil Jackson three weeks earlier, then heading back to Latvia without resolving the issues between the young star and the chaotic franchise.

In his own end of the season press conference Jackson was asked if unlike last summer when Porzingis was untouchable, was everything on the table, everything possible?

"Everything has got to be possible," Jackson said. "And we have to make sure that if people have something to say we listen to it. We examine it."

ESPN reported last week that in the way of the rift teams had been inquiring of the availability of Porzingis in a trade. The Clippers have already been the subject of trade rumors involving Carmelo Anthony.
