After attending Champ Bailey’s enshrinement, Chris Harris more motivated to reach Canton

Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris, outside linebacker Von Miller and kicker Brandon McManus attended the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony in Canton, Ohio on Saturday evening.

The three Broncos were in attendance to show support for former cornerback Champ Bailey and late owner Pat Bowlen.

“It was an amazing experience to see Mr. B and Champ go in,” Harris said after practice Sunday. “It was definitely worth the trip. To come out here and bounce back today in practice, it was definitely worth it for sure.”

Did seeing his former teammate get enshrined make him think about reaching Canton himself one day?

“Oh yeah, definitely,” Harris said. “Just motivates you to keep working.”

Harris, the only cornerback in the NFL with multiple interceptions each year since 2012, has been voted to the Pro Bowl four times in his career and he was a key member of the Super Bowl-winning roster in 2015.

He’s well on his way to Canton.

“I definitely think about it,” Harris said. “I definitely know that I have a chance. But I have to continue to work every day [and] continue to perfect my craft every day. And when it’s time, hopefully when I retire, they understand how I changed the game inside and they really see I was good really wherever they put me.”

Harris, 30, owns 19 interceptions since he entered the NFL in 2011.
