After an unreal 2021 Formula 1 season and controversial finish, the next ‘Drive to Survive’ can’t come soon enough

I’m still recovering. The final Formula 1 race of the season in Abu Dhabi came down to the final lap, one run around the track to decide if Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton — tied in points coming into Sunday — would win a championship, Hamilton’s eighth or Verstappen’s first.

A controversial decision from stewards to allow the lapped cars between the two go ahead of the safety car and allow for the two rivals to go head-to-head for that last lap had fans furious.

But one thing is for sure after Hamilton and Verstappen have gone at each other for the whole year, which has included some questionable incidents. For fans of Drive to Survive, the Netflix docu-series that has followed each of the last three F1 seasons, the fourth edition in 2022 looking back on this year is going to be must-watch television.
