‘African tribe’ issued fresh court order as saga rumbles on

  • A self-styled group known as the “Kingdom of Kubala” has been residing in woods in Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, since May.
  • The trio, comprising Kofi Offeh (King Atehene), Jean Gasho (Queen Nandi), and Kaura Taylor (Asnat), were initially evicted from private land.
  • They subsequently relocated their campsite to an adjacent plot of land owned by the local council.
  • Selkirk Sheriff Court has ruled that the group cannot return to the original private land and has also issued an order banning them from the council-owned land they currently occupy.
  • The group asserts that the land is rightfully theirs, claiming to be reclaiming what was taken from their ancestors 400 years ago.
