AFLW locks in WA derby behind closed doors

The second AFLW western derby will be played without fans in attendance at Fremantle Oval. (AAP)

West Coast and Fremantle will play an AFLW derby behind closed doors, rounding out the raft of changes to the competition's round two fixture.

The Dockers and Eagles were originally due to fly to Adelaide to play the Crows and GWS respectively this weekend but the WA lockdown and various border restrictions have since forced multiple postponements and changes.

Given various border restrictions, a WA derby allows the competition to schedule its full quota of seven games this weekend.

The game will be played at Fremantle Oval on Sunday without a crowd due to current government guidelines in place in WA.

There are no more than 150 people permitted at the venue - including players, coaches, umpires, broadcast and venue staff.

The AFLW has had to reshuffle its fixture multiple times over the past week due to the WA lockdown, then Melbourne's sole coronavirus case.

Brisbane and Gold Coast will now play each other on Sunday after their respective clashes against Geelong and Collingwood - who will now face off on Saturday - were rescheduled.

GWS and Adelaide will play behind closed doors in NSW on Sunday after the Crows were granted permission to travel to and quarantine in Sydney.

Only two games - the Western Bulldogs' clash with Carlton on Friday night and Melbourne's game against Richmond on Saturday - remain true to the original schedule.
