Collingwood AFL superfan Jeffrey "Joffa" Corfe will stand trial accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Corfe, 60, pleaded not guilty in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday to two charges of sexual penetration of a child under 16.

It relates to the alleged abuse of a 14-year-old boy in Coburg, in Melbourne's north, in 2005.

He had his bail extended and his case will now move to Victoria's County Court.

The boy, now a man, gave evidence behind closed doors on Wednesday morning, followed by a friend of his in open court later in the day.

The friend said the man disclosed the abuse to him in one conversation, but only disclosed Corfe as the alleged offender later.

"I know he was a little uncomfortable disclosing the identity of the person at the time of the initial conversation," the friend said.

The friend said he wasn't a football follower and didn't know who Corfe was when his friend named him as his alleged attacker.

He said his friend, who was also "absolutely not" an AFL follower, had showed him a photo of Corfe on Google.
