AFL great Glenn Archer has resigned from the North Melbourne board.
Archer, acclaimed in 2005 as the club's Shinboner of the Century, has stepped down to focus on business interests and to spend more time with his family.
Archer, whose 311 games for the club featured two premierships, spent more than five years on the board in two stints.
"We are deeply indebted to Arch for his wonderful contribution to our club, both as a champion player and servant on the board," North's president Ben Buckley said in a statement on Saturday.
"We understand his desire to spend more time with his family and focus more on his growing business interests.
"But we are equally sad to lose his expertise, knowledge and guidance in all football and business matters."
Archer flagged his intention to relinquish his board position earlier this year.
Buckley said Archer's legacy included helping initiate an overhaul of the club's football program, rejuvenate the playing list and as a panel member that selected current senior coach David Noble.
