The AFL game between Geelong and Brisbane is going ahead despite the Victorian government announcing new coronavirus regulations to do with travellers from the Queensland capital.
Less than an hour before Friday night's match at GMHBA Stadium, Victoria's health department announced anyone who has arrived from the Brisbane or Moreton Bay areas since March 12 must self-isolate immediately and be tested for COVID-19.
At quarter-time, an alert flashed up on the scoreboard saying anyone that it affects must leave the ground and follow the health advice.
Supporters in the ground groaned as the notice was read out by the ground MC.
Former Lions player Luke Hodge, who was commentating at the ground, was expected to leave Kardinia Park and self-isolate.
The Lions players and staff have been tested in recent days and it is understood the latest rules do not affect them.
The club arrived in Melbourne on Thursday in preparation for the round two game against the Cats.
The AFL is expected to release a statement later on Friday when it receives more details about how the changes affect the competition.
The Lions' AFLW team are due to play Melbourne at Casey Fields on Saturday.
