Afghanistan war causing record civilian casualties

Civilians are paying a higher price than ever before in the war in Afghanistan with some 1,700 civilians killed in the first six months of this year - the highest figure since the UN started keeping records.

Thousands of others have been wounded, often with life-changing injuries.
