But the Taliban has also pledged to respect women’s rights, while raping girls.
It offers amnesty to those who helped western forces, while hunting and killing them.
We can not trust the Taliban. Al-Qaeda is already in Afghanistan and we should expect it to grow and to operate there.

This perceived victory is likely to galvanise jihadi support and over the coming years intelligence services around the world will have to track extremists travelling to Afghanistan to conduct terrorist training.
This will be far from easy and even more difficult to prove, making it challenging to enforce anti-terror laws.
