AFC Wimbledon vs West Ham
FA Cup fourth round
Venue: Kingsmeadow
Date: Saturday, January 26, 2019
Kick-off: 7:45pm GMT
AFC Wimbledon and West Ham meet in cup competition for the second time this season at Kingsmeadow.
The Hammers found themselves a goal behind after two minutes when these two met in the second round of the EFL Cup back in August but fought back in the second-half, returning to east London with a 3-1 win in the bag.
Wally Downes’ side sit rock bottom of League One.
Wimbledon and West Ham team news
Ryan Fredericks is back in the West Ham squad for the FA Cup trip to AFC Wimbledon after three months out with a calf injury.
Back-up goalkeeper Adrian will start in goal, while youngsters Xande Silva and Grady Diangana are also set to feature.
It remains to be seen whether wantaway striker Marko Arnautovic will be involved, while Jack Wilshere, Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini, Winston Reid and Carlos Sanchez are still out injured.
Provisional squad: Adrian, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Rice, Obiang, Snodgrass, Diangana, Silva, Hernandez, Fabianski, Zabaleta, Cresswell, Noble, Anderson, Nasri, Arnautovic, Antonio, Carroll, Perez.
AFC Wimbledon could welcome back Kwesi Appiah. The six-goal striker, who hit the last-minute winner in the third round against Fleetwood, has trained this week following a hamstring injury.
Former Charlton midfielder Scott Wagstaff is also fit after a calf injury. But Rod McDonald and James Hanson are set to miss out again while on-loan full-back Steve Seddon is cup-tied.
Score prediction: AFC Wimbledon 0-3 West Ham
Even should Arnautovic miss out with speculation over his future mounting by the hour, the Hammers should have enough going forward against a side whose priority will be fighting for survival rather than a cup run.
