AFC Wimbledon have 'no place to hide' after Sunderland defeat

AFC Wimbledon Head Coach Mark Robinson says his side have 'no place to hide' after Carl Winchester's deflected strike saw the Black Cats maintain their impressive start to the season.

Lee Johnson's side moved up to fifth in the League One standings with the win as they inflicted Wimbledon's first defeat of the season.

Robinson says his side 'didn't look like a team who believed they could win' and need to improve ahead of their next outing.

He told the official AFC Wimbledon website: "You can’t hide behind a deflected goal.

“There was a reason why we conceded a goal on Tuesday (against Gillingham) and there’s a reason today. They had a few other chances, to be honest, apart from that.

"You can’t consider yourselves unlucky because it’s a deflected goal. We haven’t got up to the ball. He should never have got a shot in anyway.

"There are other things we haven’t done well enough too. We haven’t come here, I believe, and looked like a team who really believed they could win.

"We had some moments, kept the ball quite well in the first half, but need more purpose. There’s things that we need to rectify.”
