AFC West report after Week 14: Chiefs clinch fifth-straight division title

Even before the Raiders took the field Sunday afternoon, the division was locked up. The Chiefs opened the day with a 33-27 win over the Dolphins, giving them their 12th win and clinching the division for the fifth straight season.

The reigning Super Bowl champions still have just one loss on the season and it came against the Raiders at Arrowhead, who hadn’t won in KC in seven years.

While the Chiefs kept their winning ways going, the Raiders have fallen badly behind. They were keeping pace as of mid-November at 6-3 heading into their second head-to-head match-up.

The Raiders would take a lead into the final seconds of that game, only to have the Chiefs drive for the game-winning touchdown. That game started the team’s downward spiral which has had them lose three of their last four, including Sunday’s 43-27 loss to the Colts.

In fact, the Raiders were the lonesome losers of the AFC West this week. Along with the Chiefs, the Broncos and Chargers also won their games against the Panthers and Falcons respectively.

Here is what the division looks like now:

1. Kansas City Chiefs 12-1 (4-1)
2. Las Vegas Raiders 7-6 (3-1)
3. Denver Broncos 5-8 (1-3)
4. Los Angeles Chargers 4-9 (0-3)

Up next:

Chiefs at Saints (10-3)
Raiders vs Chargers
Broncos vs Bills (10-3)
