AFC South standings: Titans tied atop division after Week 2 win

The Tennessee Titans were the only AFC South team to win in Week 2, as the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars all lost their respective matchups on Sunday.

Tennessee’s victory didn’t come easy, though.

The Titans had to battle back from a 24-9 halftime deficit to ultimately pull out a thrilling victory in overtime, which also snapped a 52-game winning streak Seattle was sporting at home when having a lead of 15 points or more.

Meanwhile, the Texans were beset by injuries en route to a 31-21 loss to the Cleveland Browns, the Colts lost a close one to the Los Angeles Rams, 27-24, and the Jaguars were manhandled by the Denver Broncos, 23-13.

With those results, the Titans now have a share of first place in the AFC South with the Texans. Houston technically has the advantage due to the divisional record tie-breaker, but it’s far too early to worry about that, especially when Tennessee has yet to play a divisional game.

1. Houston Texans (1-1)

2. Tennessee Titans (1-1)

3. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)

4. Indianapolis Colts (0-2)

That first divisional game will come in Week 3 when the Titans welcome the Colts to Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The Texans will host the 2-0 Carolina Panthers on Thursday night, and Jacksonville will be at home versus the 2-0 Arizona Cardinals.

Like the Texans, Indy is dealing with an injury to their quarterback. Carson Wentz came down with an ankle issue versus the Rams and his status is currently up in the air for Week 3. If he can’t go, Jacob Eason will start.
