AFC playoff picture: Steelers on outside looking in

Despite the resurgence of the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last three weeks, they still find themselves on the outside looking in as we take an early look at the AFC playoff picture.

Here’s how the playoffs look heading into Week 10.

In the playoffs:

1. New England Patriots: 8-1
2. Baltimore Ravens: 6-2
3. Houston Texans: 6-3
4. Kansas City Chiefs: 6-3
5. Buffalo Bills: 6-2
6. Indianapolis Colts: 5-3

In the hunt:

• Pittsburgh Steelers: 4-4
• Oakland Raiders: 4-4
• Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-5
• Los Angeles Chargers: 4-5
• Tennessee Titans: 4-5

Pittsburgh beat the Colts last week giving them the tiebreaker if it should get to that point. Pittsburgh will also play the Buffalo Bills later in the season and it could have huge playoff implications for one of those wildcard spots.

You can’t rule out the Steelers winning the AFC North but at this point, it’s a longshot the Steelers can catch the Baltimore Ravens unless they take a big tumble.

From this point going forward Steelers’ fans need to keep a close eye on the schedules of the Colts and Bills as well as the other teams still in the hunt.
