AFC Playoff Picture entering Week 10: Raiders still in the hunt

After a big win in Week 9, the Oakland Raiders are right in the thick of things in the AFC. They are currently sitting at 4-4 with a significantly easier schedule still ahead of them. Let’s take a quick look at the current playoff seeding for both the NFC and the AFC, entering Week 10:

NFC Playoff Seeding as of Week 10

1. San Francisco 49ers (8-0)
2. New Orleans Saints (7-1)
3. Green Bay Packers (7-2)
4. Dallas Cowboys (5-3)
5. Seattle Seahawks (7-2)
6. Minnesota Vikings (6-3)

AFC Playoff Seeding as of Week 10

1. New England Patriots (8-1)
2. Baltimore Ravens (6-2)
3. Houston Texans (6-3)
4. Kansas City Chiefs (6-3)
5. Buffalo Bills (6-2)
6. Indianapolis Colts (5-3)

While the Raiders are currently on the outside looking in for a playoff spot, they are now tied for the No. 8 spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Oakland does have a tie-breaker with the Colts, after defeating them earlier in the season.

As long as the Raiders can get to nine or 10 wins, they should have an excellent chance of making the playoffs. And with games such as the Bengals, Jets, Jaguars, Broncos, and Titans still on the schedule, that shouldn’t be all that difficult for the Silver and Black.
