The Pittsburgh Steelers are full of self-inflicted drama this offseason. One of the lead actors in the Steelers soap opera, All-Pro wideout Antonio Brown, is openly efforting his way off the cast and onto a different network.
Brown posted a farewell thank you note to Steelers fans on his social media on Tuesday, further escalating the deep rift between the spirited wide receiver and Steelers brass.
Brown and the team are tired of one another despite the mutually beneficial relationship over the last nine seasons. The wideout’s antics and a recent guilty plea to reckless driving have only escalated the issues, which also involve money.
The Steelers have yet to declare they are trading or dumping Brown, which makes his sayonara even stranger. It appears he is trying to force management’s hand and orchestrate his way out of Pittsburgh one way or another.
