Ryan Shazier was seriously injured playing linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2017. In the midst of his second Pro Bowl season, he suffered a neck injury against the Bengals that temporarily paralyzed him below the shoulders. It was a scary, tragic reminder of the frailty of even the strongest players.
Since then Shazier has fought very hard to get back on his feet. Over the weekend the former Ohio State standout posted an inspirational mark of his amazing progress on his social media.
Shazier did a box jump. A legit box jump.
He might represent the enemy, but fans of football and humanity can all appreciate how awesome it is to see Shazier progressing in his recovery.
