AFC North watch: Ex-Browns starter Trevon Coley signs with Ravens practice squad

Trevon Coley started 28 games at defensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns in 2017-2018. Those seasons did not end particularly well for the Browns, and Coley’s presence in the starting lineup is emblematic of the dearth of talent plaguing the Hue Jackson era.

Coley couldn’t make the cut for the 2019 Browns. He was passed on the depth chart by Devaroe Lawrence and Daniel Ekuale as reserves behind big-ticket free agent Sheldon Richardson and the promising young Larry Ogunjobi.

The third-year defensive tackle went unclaimed on waivers, but Coley has resurfaced with a familiar foe. The Baltimore Ravens added Coley to their practice squad on Wednesday.

It’s a big fall for Coley, but we’re glad to see he’s getting another opportunity. Even if it’s with the Ravens.
