AFC North standings: Steelers leapfrog Browns in Week 8

The Baltimore Ravens didn’t even play in Week 8 but they still came out as winners. In spite of having their bye, Baltimore didn’t really see any other team encroach on their AFC North standings.

The Pittsburgh Steelers leapfrogged the Cleveland Browns in the AFC North standings by beating the Miami Dolphins and moving to 3-4. However, the Ravens’ Week 5 win over the Steelers give them the head-to-head tiebreaker edge right now as well as the division record tiebreaker, effectively putting Baltimore three games ahead.

The Browns dropped their Week 8 game to the New England Patriots. While it’s hard to bash Cleveland for losing to New England, they continue to look further and further away from a cohesive team every week. For a team that has so much talent and was expected to be the next king of the north, they’ve fallen down repeatedly this season.

The Bengals still remain winless and are now benching quarterback Andy Dalton. They appear to be embracing their rebuild finally and it’s questionable as to whether they’ll win a game this season.

Take a look at the AFC North standings after Week 8:

AFC North standings:

Team Record Division Record Conference Record
Baltimore Ravens 5-2 2-1 3-2
Pittsburgh Steelers 3-4 1-1 3-2
Cleveland Browns 2-5 1-0 2-2
Cincinnati Bengals 0-8 0-2 0-4
