AFC North standings: Ravens extend their lead with win and Browns’ collapse

The division is still up in the air after Week 6 but the Baltimore Ravens handled their business and got a little bit of luck to buy themselves some room in the AFC North standings.

The Ravens beat the Cincinnati Bengals to not only put themselves to 4-2 but to keep the Bengals undefeated. Because it was a division game, Baltimore also boosted their division and conference records at the same time. At the end of the season when tiebreakers are needed, those records will become all the more important.

But the Ravens got a little help as the Cleveland Browns lost to the Seattle Seahawks. The Browns looked to be in good shape, getting out to a quick 20-6 lead early in the second quarter. But the Seahawks came surging back, edging them out in the final minutes. Though it doesn’t affect Cleveland’s division or conference records, it does put them down to 2-4, meaning Baltimore has a two-game lead in the AFC North standings now.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat up on the hapless Los Angeles Chargers but thanks to the Ravens beating them in Week 5, Baltimore effectively has a 2.5-game lead over them right now.

AFC North standings:

Team Record Division Record Conference Record
Baltimore Ravens 4-2 2-1 3-2
Cleveland Browns 2-4 1-0 2-1
Pittsburgh Steelers 2-4 1-1 2-2
Cincinnati Bengals 0-6 0-2 0-3
