AFC North standings: Ravens drop top spot and in danger of falling further after Week 4

The Baltimore Ravens went into Week 4 with the lead in the AFC North standings. By that evening, they were second after losing to the Cleveland Browns. By this time next week, they could be third.

The Ravens got beat up on the ground and through the air by the Browns, falling 40-25. Though they have the same record at 2-2, Baltimore loses the head-to-head, division-record and conference-record tiebreakers to fall to second place. With the Pittsburgh Steelers up in Week 5, the Ravens have a chance to either put themselves back in the lead in the AFC North standings or fall even further.

A win over Pittsburgh would make Baltimore 3-2, while a Cleveland loss to the San Francisco 49ers would put them at 2-3 — giving the Ravens the edge in records. However, a loss to the Steelers would knock Baltimore down to a 2-3 tie with Pittsburgh while giving up the head-to-head, division-record and conference-record tiebreakers to fall to third.

With the Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals up in the next two weeks, we’ll find out just how good this division can really be. Two wins could put the Ravens right back on top and give them a comfortable lead while two losses could all but end their hopes of winning the division by the bye.

Take a look at the AFC North standings after four weeks.

AFC North standings:

Team Record Division Record Conference Record
Cleveland Browns 2-2 1-0 2-1
Baltimore Ravens 2-2 0-1 1-2
Pittsburgh Steelers 1-3 1-0 1-1
Cincinnati Bengals 0-4 0-1 0-2
