AFC North roundup: Ravens surge, Steelers surprise, Bengals spiral

Entering Sunday in Week 6, the Cleveland Browns were within a game of the Baltimore Ravens for the lead in the AFC North and appeared comfortably ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. After Sunday night concluded, the Browns’ status in the division suddenly looks different.

Baltimore pounded Cincinnati, keeping the Bengals winless at 0-6. The Ravens won 23-16, a margin which includes a late Andy Dalton TD that made the score more respectable.

The 4-2 Ravens rode Lamar Jackson to the win. The second-year QB ran for over 150 yards and threw for more than 200 to quickly seize back momentum after the Bengals returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, the Steelers caught the Browns at 2-4 with an impressive win over the Chargers on Sunday night. Pittsburgh captured a de facto home game in California behind undrafted rookie third-string QB Devlin Hodges, 24-17.

Pittsburgh led 24-0 entering the fourth quarter. Rookie LB Devin Bush scored on a fumble return and also picked off a Philip Rivers pass. The Chargers rallied furiously in the fourth but couldn’t pull off the comeback.
