AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson responds to Manchester United transfer speculation

Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson has responded to transfer rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United in the January transfer window.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted the club would be exploring their options in the winter window and wants another forward to lessen the goal-scoring burden on the shoulders of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in attack.

He said: "Of course, we let Alexis and Romelu go. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that it's [a] forward that, next time we're going to recruit, we're looking for some creativity and goals."

Plenty of names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford including Wilson - whose excellent form for Bournemouth has propelled him into the England squad. The 27-year-old has scored five goals in the Premier League this season but refused to be drawn on the speculation surrounding his future.

"I usually find out by people reading stuff and coming up to me!" he told versus.uk.com .

"I'm just kind of like 'you know as much as me'. I don't really listen to it.

"I don't read papers and I don't read Twitter feeds about transfer rumours. I tend to just focus on myself.

"I've just signed a contract at Bournemouth so I'm committed there.

"I try not to let anything like that affect my game."
