Aerosmith, Bowie and 8 other musical heroes who played The Forum in Livingston before it shut

Did you know that American rockers Aerosmith once performed a gig at Livingston's shopping outlet? Well they did, sort of.

Where The Centre is now located, at Almondvale West, used to be a music venue known by locals as The Forum.

And on November 22, 1989 one of the biggest rock acts in the world took to the stage there with Steven Tyler and co-belting out classics such as  Love in an Elevator, Dude (Looks Like a Lady) and Walk This Way.

The show took place as part of their Pump tour which saw them perform gigs all across the world – from Japan and Australia to Denmark and Sweden.

However there was only one show in Scotland – and it was in West Lothian.

The tour was put on in support of their second multi-platinum album which was released earlier in 1989.

We're not exactly sure where the connection between Aerosmith and Livingston comes from, but they weren't the only big band to turn out at The Forum before it closed down in late 1996. The building was eventually demolished two years later.

David Bowie also performed there in 1989 with his band Tin Machine – six years after his famous Murrayfield show.

Here are eight other acts who took to the stage there in the 80s and 90s.
