Aer Lingus urge customers to ignore scam 'anniversary voucher' email

Aer Lingus have warned their customers to ignore a scam email doing the rounds.

The email, which claims to be from the airline, tells those who receive it that they have been lucky enough to get an ‘anniversary voucher’ which entitles them and another passenger to book any flight they wish for just €10.

It provides the recipient with a link and tells them that they have just 48 hours to claim the prize.

However, Aer Lingus has confirmed that this is a fake email and are urging customers not to click the link or engage with it in any form if they receive it.

After a number of people who received the email took to Twitter to question the legitimacy of it, the airline clarified that it’s a scam and in no way associated with them.

They tweeted: “We’re aware of this doing the rounds and we’d recommend you don’t engage with this email as it’s not affiliated with us or our partners.”

Aer Lingus have also reported the issue to the relevant authority in hopes the scam will stop being circulated online.
