Aer Lingus is recruiting apprentice aircraft engineers - here's how to apply

Aer Lingus is hiring a small number of apprentice aircraft engineers - and for the lucky few it could be the beginning of a fantastic career.

The airline has launched its 2019 Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Apprentice Scheme with just 10 placements available.

They're looking for 'motivated, enthusiastic, and technically-minded', candidates to apply for the four-year programme, which is run in conjunction with SOLAS in Shannon and Technological University Dublin (TUD).

At the end of the scheme, the aim is for apprentices to be fully qualified aircraft engineers and continue to work at Aer Lingus.

This year, the carrier is particularly keen to attract female talent.

They stated: "There is a particular emphasis this year in attracting female applicants and building on the number of female apprentices at the airline.

"Thirty per cent of the successful applicants last year were female.

"Women now make up 48 percent of all employees at Aer Lingus, and the airline has re-iterated its commitment to supporting female talent across the airline."
