Advisory panel approves government's plan to lifting emergency declaration in Japan

An advisory panel of experts on the spread of the new coronavirus on Monday morning approved the government's plan to lift a declaration of a state of emergency for the rest of the nation.

The state of emergency currently applies in Tokyo, Hokkaido, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama prefectures.

The declaration is expected to be fully lifted by the end of the day.
