Advertising bosses upheld a complaint against model and new mum Rosanna Davison after she plugged a dress.
The star breached the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland’s code, its report published on Tuesday night stated.
The post, which was later removed, read: “Here’s the link to my dress… just swipe up.”
The complainant insisted the post was misleading because the influencer did not disclose the fact it contained an affiliate link for which she was potentially receiving a commission.
The ASAI published details of the 35-year-old former Miss World’s response to the complaint.

The report stated: “The advertiser (Davison) thanked the ASAI for bringing attention to this issue and said they had genuinely not been aware it was necessary to alert followers to affiliate links.
“The advertisers said they always ensured they made people aware when posting an advertisement. Finally, the advertisers offered to remove the images and would, going forward, alert followers to any affiliate links.”
In its decision, the ASAI said: “The Complaints Committee considered the detail of the complaint and the advertisers’ response.
"The Committee noted the Code requirement that a marketing communication should be designed and presented in such a way that it is clear that it is a marketing communication.
“As the advertisers had undertaken to ensure that future affiliate links would be disclosed appropriately, no further action was required.”
