It is incredibly easy to say Trent Williams is both critically important to the Washington Redskins and one of the outright best in the NFL at what he does.
But it sure doesn’t hurt to have the fact visualized with some interesting numbers.
Pro Football Focus helps in this regard above, showcasing Williams as a top-five player at his position over the course of the past three years, third behind only David Bakhtiari and Joe Staley.
This sort of context makes the current impasse between the Redskins and Williams all the more interesting. It is reportedly contractual with a sampling of medical details mixed in there too — either way he wasn’t at OTAs.
Given the above, the situation involving Williams and the Redskins is now priority No. 1 for fans this offseason.
