Coastguards confirmed they were called to the scene to assists the people stuck in the mud.

It comes despite warnings for people to stay safe in the warm weather.

The town's beach is and, but at low tide large areas of thick mud are revealed, posing a danger to people walking.

It is strongly not advised to reach the sea at low tide.
