Adult and child injured after crash outside Royal Oldham Hospital

An adult and a child suffered injuries after a crash outside a hospital in Oldham.

Rochdale Road was taped off by police while emergency crews rushed to the scene.

The two-vehicle smash happened outside Royal Oldham Hospital , at the junction with Sheepfoot Lane, at 8am on Friday.

It is unclear how badly injured the patients were, but it is understood they made their way to hospital by foot.

No further details have been released about the age or genders of the patients.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire Service said: "We were called at 8am to a road traffic accident involving two vehicles.

"No one was trapped. An adult and child made their way to hospital on foot. Fire engines left the scene at around 9am."

Fire crews also assessed two further patients at the scene, but they did not need further treatment.

The road was reopened at around 9.40am, a tweet by TfGM said.
