Adrien Rabiot transfer: PSG chairman accused of 'poisoning' team over treatment

The mother and agent of Paris Saint-Germain star Adrien Rabiot has accused chairman and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of "poisoning" the team with his treatment of her son.

Veronique Rabiot is angry with what the midfielder has had to put up with this season.

He is sure to quit this summer but won't be moving to Real Madrid .

They have pulled out of the race to sign the PSG outcast this summer - putting potential Premier League suitors on red alert.

Rabiot has fallen out of favour in France and hasn't featured for the Ligue 1 giants since December 11.

His contract is set to expire at the end of the season and there are a host of clubs ready to hand him a deal, reportedly including LiverpoolManchester United and Arsenal .

Rabiot has been marginalised his mother claims - and says that is having a detrimental effect on the whole squad.

"The president [Al-Khelaifi] has made a completely unfair decision and everybody knows that," she told Agence France Presse .

"By doing this, he has instilled a poison in his team, which has done its work over the past five months - Nasser has broken his own team up because he forgot about the human factor.

"When you make decisions in life, there are short, medium and long-term consequences. Failing to understand that when you are the president of a football club is to not know football, nor football players. Above all, it shows that you do not know men."

She added: "His team-mates know that Adrien is suffering, even if he says nothing - that suffering resonates.

"I am not saying that it is a conscious thing, I actually think that it is totally subconscious from the other players.

"However, there is a gangrene there. Nasser has taken away their serenity - you cannot ignore it when one of the best players in your team is abused in front of your eyes."

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is a big fan and the pair had a strong relationship while he was in charge of the French champions.

The Gunners are said to be the front-runners because of that with a summer overhaul expected at the Emirates.
