Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona transfer: PSG midfielder 'agrees' five-year deal

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has agreed a deal to join Barcelona on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to various reports.

The 23-year-old, whose PSG contract expires this summer, will sign a five-year deal believed to be worth £170,000-a-week with the Catalan giants.

The holding midfield player has struggled to fulfil his early career promise, and despite featuring regularly in Ligue 1 this season, was left out of the line-up for crunch Champions League ties against Liverpool and Napoli in November.

Rabiot made his PSG debut as a 17-year-old under Carlo Ancelotti in 2012, and has won four Ligue 1 titles and four French cups with the club.

He made his France debut in November 2016, but has earned just six caps in the two years since, and was not part of Didier Deschamps' World Cup winning side.

Barcelona are looking to freshen up their squad, and may see Rabiot as an ideal long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets, who will be 31 by the start of next season.
