Adrien Rabiot open to shock transfer U-turn amid Man Utd interest

Adrien Rabiot could be set to sensationally stay at Paris Saint-Germain, despite initially appearing to have no future at the club having not appeared since before Christmas.

The 24-year-old French international fell out with the club after refusing to renew his contract at the end of last year, and was forced to train with the reserves.

He was also suspended when he went to a nightclub after PSG's 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the Champions League last-16 and liked an Instagram post by Patrice Evra celebrating the win.

Yet despite everything suggesting he would leave on a free transfer in the summer, with sporting director Antero Henrique set to leave the club, along with a number of other staff members, Rabiot may now be tempted to stay.

Henrique has been an unpopular figure in Paris, and is reported to have not seen eye-to-eye with a number of figures at the club, including manager Thomas Tuchel.

He is now in discussions with the hierarchy over a mutual separation, a move which could see Rabiot return to favour and even sign a new contract.

It would provide a blow to the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool , who have been linked with a bargain free transfer move for the player after his contract expires at the end of the month.

Rabiot was a regular in the PSG side in the 2017-2018 season, making 33 appearance in Ligue 1 and helping his side to the league title.

Although things have not gone according to plan since then he has still gained interest from a number of top clubs all around Europe, with his talent never in doubt.

Rabiot had a small taste of English football in the past, as he spent six months at Manchester City's youth team in 2008 before moving on to French side Pau FC.
