Adrian Wojnarowski’s NBA free agency tweets raised so many tampering questions

The NBA free agency period didn’t open until 6 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, which technically means that teams can only start discussing contract terms and recruiting free-agent players AFTER that time.

But this is the NBA we’re talking about where tampering is so rampant that players openly joke about it during All-Star Game selections shows.

In a perfect world (in the NBA’s mind), players and teams would wait until the 6 p.m. window and take their time discussing these multimillion-dollar financial commitments. That would make sense, right?

With that in mind, let’s check in on how ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reacted to the start of NBA free agency. He only, uh, tweeted full contract terms for multiple players right at 6 p.m.

Either Woj is the fastest typer in the history of Twitter or he had those tweets ready to go and published them right at 6 p.m. because he already knew. Hint: It’s the second one — tampering doesn’t mean anything in today’s NBA.
