Adrian Wilson, the Cardinals’ ‘Vice President of Stuff’

Adrian Wilson had a prolific NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals. His production should garner some Hall of Fame talk. He now works in the front office for the organization. He holds an official title of team scout but he does a whole lot more.

Unofficially, he is known as the “Vice President of Stuff.”

This was revealed in the latest edition of Cardinals Flight Plan, the team’s offseason docuseries.

According to team president Michael Bidwill, Wilson “loves that nickname.”

Wilson explained that it came originally from former head coach Bruce Arians.

“When BA was here, he used to call me ‘Stuff,'” he recalled. “He was like, ‘you do so much stuff stuff around here and they don’t give you a title. I’m going to call you Stuff. The Vice President of Stuff.'”

Wilson has dabbled in a lot of things. He can be seen on the sidelines during offseason practices. He does college scouting. He has done some pro scouting. He most recently played a key role in the team’s coaching search.

He doesn’t mind the versatility.”

“I don’t look for roles. I don’t look for titles. The most important thing is winning.”

It would appear the team is grooming him for a future role in the organization as perhaps general manager.

As a former Cardinals great, a member of the Ring of Honor and now working in the organization, he appears to be following in the footsteps of Larry Wilson, who was a player, a Hall of Famer and was general manager for a time.

For now, he is content doing whatever.

“I just want to do the stuff that matters.”
