Adrian Peterson wants to run for 2,000 yards in 2019

Last season, Adrian Peterson surprised the football world, rushing for 1,042 yards with the Redskins.

In 2019 at age 34, he wants to double that.

“If God’s willing, I can duplicate that and do it even better,” Peterson said via NFL.com. “I got my mark set at 2,000 (yards), I’ve always had it at that mark since I stepped into the league. So that’s where it’s at. But most importantly, I just want to contribute to the team and help this team win a championship.”

Dream big, kids.

Peterson ran for 2,000 yards once in his career back in 2012 with the Vikings when he hit the 2,097-yard mark. That was seven years, though, and 1,071 less carries ago for Peterson.

This statement isn’t a surprise from Peterson. The dude is extremely confident in his abilities, and I guess that’s better than not.

With Derrius Guice returning for the Redskins and the team drafting Stanford running back Bryce Love, carries for the veteran could be hard to come across.
