Adrian Peterson tied for NFL lead in missed tackles forced on the ground

To say Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has still got it would be an understatement.

Peterson, even at 34 years old, was one of the NFL’s best outright surprises last year as he rumbled for more than 1,000 yards as the centerpiece to the battered Redskins offense.

As Pro Football Focus illustrated above, that ranked him among the elite names in missed tackles forced on the ground.

Impressive, considering Carson out in Seattle is only 24 and just went for 1,151 yards and nine scores. Derrick Henry in Tennessee had 1,059 and 12. Both played with bigger threats under center, meaning Peterson had a tougher time against expecting defenses.

Yet there was Peterson, still putting up some impressive numbers. In theory, he might be even more effective next season if he gets to split some of the load with the returning Derrius Guice.
