Adrian Peterson says this was the best week of practice he’s had with the Redskins

The new coaching change in Washington appears to make at least one veteran player happy.

After Bill Callahan took over as the interim head coach for the Redskins following the firing of Jay Gruden earlier this week, increased emphasis on the run game has been implemented into the Redskins offense. For veteran running back Adrian Peterson, this is very welcomed news.

When speaking to the media on Thursday, Peterson said that he is excited for the adjustment, noting that in the first five weeks of the season, he was getting a very low number of carries, which is a total shift from what the Redskins did last season.

“Obviously, something isn’t working,” said Peterson. “There needs to be some type of change.”

As the first week of practice for Callahan is starting to come to a close, a sense of energy can be felt surrounding the team, and Peterson commented on that today, noting that players are more excited.

Spirits are surprisingly high for a team that is 0-5 without a long-term plan at the head coach or quarterback positions, but whatever keeps the players coming into work each day is good enough.
