Adrian Peterson says experience with Vikings will help Redskins

Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson sounds like he has a 50-50 chance to play Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings.

And Peterson would love to given the way he happens to know a thing or two about the Vikings. He says his experience there will help aid the Redskins in all facets.

“It’s going to help a lot,” Peterson said, according to NBC Sports Washington’s Peter Hailey. “Just knowing their personalities and their mentality. That, right there, is going to be very important for me and being able to talk to [my teammates] as well, since it’ll be probably be their first time going up against these guys.”

Peterson spent a chunk of his career with the Vikings before eventually landing in Washington and having the surprise breakout season last year.

Now, Peterson is merely trying to fight through ankle sprains to even get a shot at his former team.

If Peterson can’t go and the running game is left in the hands of a hodgepodge of names, he can at least assist from the sidelines. But for Redskins fans, it sure wouldn’t’ hurt to see a revenge game where AP pops off and leads the team to a win.
