Adrian Peterson ranks 35th on PFF’s top players of decade list

The folks over at Pro Football Focus are ranking the top 101 players over the last decade throughout the week.

The first player who player for the Vikings during this stretch came in at No. 35. That was running back Adrian Peterson.

Here’s what PFF wrote about Peterson:

Adrian Peterson is one of the most dominant ball carriers the game has ever seen. For him to rank this highly despite being such a limited factor on passing downs just speaks to how devastating he was with the ball in his hands. Peterson’s MVP season of 2012 was the highest single-season grade we ever gave to a running back over the decade. In over 10 years of action, he gained more than 6,000 rushing yards after contact, breaking 364 total tackles over the regular season.

What’s so wild about Peterson’s run is that if he plays in 2020 (he’s under contract with the Redskins and ran for 898 yards last season), is that his career saw three decades in the NFL. That’s incredibly rare for any player, let alone a running back.
